If you’re a jewelry lover like myself, you’re sure to notice that it becomes dirty quite quickly, and then looks terrible if you want to wear a piece that has particles of dirt and who knows what else stuck to it. I personally do not trust the commercial jewelry cleaners on the market. For one, it smells terrible. I honestly do not want to clean my thousand dollar necklace in a concoction of who knows what, and then have my neck smelling like disgusting chemicals for the next week. I swear, I could wash the jewelry repeatedly after cleaning it, subjecting it to hard water damage, and it still smells like the nasty chemicals I used to clean it.
How would you like to get your jewelry completely clean, using products that are generally found in everyone’s house hold? Well after trying and trying to find the right solution to clean my jewelry quickly and efficiently, while avoiding harsh chemicals, I’ve finally found it. Although it’s an all-natural cleaning solution, I swear, my jewelry has never sparkled so brightly as when I use the solution. The best part is, it takes pennies to create and only requires a small amount to do the job.
Here’s what you’ll need: a medium sized bowl, white vinegar, a lemon and water. Simply mix 1 part vinegar with 3 parts water, add in about 10 squirts of lemon, throw in your jewelry and let it sit for about a half hour. There’s no need to rinse afterwards because the lemon and vinegar smell with quickly dissipate. It works wonders, and everyone I let in on my little secret, swear by the cleaner as well.
